SCOLARO, Antonina 'Nini' - It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved sister Antonina on February 4, 2021.

Heaven has gained a pure and gracious soul.

Although she was taken from us much too soon, we are truly blessed to have had this beautiful angel in our life for 60 years.

Nini was a loving daughter to Giuseppe and Maria, and is now reunited with them for eternity.

She was a devoted caregiver to her mother Maria, who God called peacefully on January 10, 2021.

As they were soulmates on earth, they are now soulmates in heaven.

She is predeceased by Nonni Antonino Bisignano and Antonina Caffarelli, her namesake, along with many other cherished family members.

She leaves an unimaginable void in the heart of her sister Mary and brother-in-law Joe Di Roma. She will be deeply missed by her precious nephew Joseph Anthony who called her his “Zia Nini”. She was incredibly proud to be his Zia, and would do anything she could to ensure his happiness. She was also known as Zia Nini to many other children who loved and respected her throughout the years, and she was truly humbled by their affection.

She will be greatly missed by her aunts, Giuseppina and Maria Bisignano, cousin Enzarita (Salvatore) who shares her birthdate, and other cousins in Italy. In Canada, she will be remembered by Zii Frank and Lina D’Assisi, in addition to her numerous cousins, large extended family, as well as close friends and neighbours.

Our Nini will forever be in our hearts.

We know God has welcomed her into His arms, and will care for her as she selflessly cared for her family all her life.
May you rest In eternal peace, Zia Nini, with Nonno Giuseppe and Nonna Maria.
Riposa in pace, mia carissima sorella, con Mamma e Papà.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Humber River Hospital (Intensive Care Unit), in particular the kind nurses, Dr. Manocha, and Social Worker Paula for their outpouring of love and care during Nini’s final journey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Antonina (Nini) can be made to Humber River Hospital Foundation (Intensive Care Unit ), the Sick Kids Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Due to the capacity restrictions from the COVID provincial lockdown, our family has decided to have a private funeral service and burial with immediate family members only. Following the service, Nini will be laid to rest next to her parents.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
