Amsterdam PearlAMSTERDAM, Pearl (Klebanoff) - Known to many as Bubbie, with us for almost 100 years. Died peacefully in her own home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, surrounded by family, just as she hoped.

It goes without saying that Pearl lived through a lot and saw a lot of people she loved go before her.

Still, Pearl's focus on all that was good in life remained and she enjoyed herself and everyone else quite a bit.

Jam maker, knitter, arts lover, night owl, gabber, opinion-giver, lifelong volunteer, proudly stubborn and proudly Jewish.

Pearl was a keen historian and read newspapers cover to cover each day. She loved good books, good arguments, good music and many a good dessert. She was a gin rummy card shark and more. We will miss her tremendously.

Proud Daughter of the late Annie and Sam, Sister to the late Herman (Pearl), Syd (Elsie), Jack, sister-in-law to Evelyn and the late Seymour and wife of the late Moe Amsterdam. Her family and her community meant the world to her.

Pearl leaves a legacy of loving relationships. Mother of Libby, Judy (Gavin) and Elaine (Mary Catherine), Grandmother to Daniel, Mallory (Jamie), Isaac, Ayelet, Yinon, Ariel and Elitzur. Great- grandmother and Great- Great-Grandmother. Matriarch.

Pearl remained at the centre of each holiday celebration and instilled in us all the importance of history, tradition and gathering together. She loved her family and her friends, her children's friends and her grandchildren's friends. She enjoyed everyone's company and everyone was welcome in her home, including the odd stranger.

A family graveside service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Memorial donations can be made in Pearl's honour to the kosher meals on wheels fund at Circle of Care.
