Solway DavidSOLWAY, David Jules - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear father David on March 10, 2021 just shy of his 90th birthday.

David was born April 20, 1931 in Hamilton, Ontario.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Charlotte.

David will be deeply missed by his children, Sherri (Richard Gray), Elise (Greg Gubitz), Michael (Lori Zak), Janice (David Montressor), and remembered as a loving Grandad by his eight grandchildren, Alex, Chloe, Samantha (Yossi Ben Zur), Jamie, Alana, Georgie, Kayla and Abby.

Raised in Toronto, David began working in the family meat business on Richmond Street. Later he opened and operated Soloway's Hot Dog Factory on Alness Street where he served up delicious deli sandwiches and hot dogs.

He was loved by all and will be remembered fondly as a compassionate caring soul who was always ready to strike up a conversation with anyone. Baseball was his passion, never missing a game whether at the field or at home. He loved to sail with his best friend and cousin, the late Larry Solway, spending countless days breaking the surf on Lake Ontario.

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff at Amica Bayview Gardens for their care and compassion over the past several years. We are also grateful for the kindness of wonderful caregivers Gail and Precious.

A Family graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Donations can be made to Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, The Canadian Cancer Society or CMHA.
