Melo LuisMELO, Luis Alberto - (1949 - 2021) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Luis on Wednesday March 10, 2021.

Luis is now reunited in heaven with his dear parents Leonardo and Sophia (nee Oliveira).

Luis was the loving husband of Hanna Gancarz. He was the adored father of Tracey and her husband Ricardo and James and his wife Marlena. He will forever be the devoted Avo of Julia, Sydney, Skyler and Tynley.

He also leaves behind his first wife of 29 years and mother of his children Zelia Melo.

He was the admired brother of John and Donalda of California, Adriana and Augusto (predeceased), Judy and Nicolau, Art and Filomena and Grace and Humberto. Luis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, family, friends and all who knew him.

Luis was a man of many interests and passions. He could often be found caring for his garden and was truly talented in his woodworking. He had a keen interest in health and wellness and enjoyed ballroom dancing. At the same time he loved to travel and relaxing at the beach. He touched the lives of many with his inspiring spirit.

Tracey and James would like to thank all their family and friends for their continuous prayers for healing over the past several months. They would like to especially thank Hanna for bringing much love and care to their father’s final years and throughout the most difficult moments of his illness. Heartfelt gratitude and thanks is also extended to the staff of Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and Trillium Mississauga Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Luis and our family.

Donations in loving memory of Luis to the Salvation Army or the Young Living Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton chapel.
