BRAGA, Ramiro DaCosta - In the early hours of March 22, 2021, Ramiro passed peacefully into the Lord's loving arms.
Born on the Island of São Miguel, Azores on July 27,1931, he was a great brother to twelve siblings.
A loyal husband to his predeceased wife (Maria da Conceiçao).
A playful father of four (Rosa, Eduino, Zelia and Ramiro), who taught us all the game of dominoes and the love for the game of hockey,.
A loving grandfather to nine grandchildren (Dimas, Christopher, Jordan, Brandon, Sydney, Vanessa, Andrew, Gloria and Delilah) and a friendly neighbour to all.
Ramiro was born in a different generation and worked hard from a young age to help his large family. He then immigrated to Canada in his twenties in search of a better life, like many from his generation did. Working his way across the country from the east coast to British Columbia building the railway, we often heard his tales of difficult days. He taught us and instilled in us the meaning of hard work. Retiring from Viceroy Homes at the age of 65, he was a hardworking, strong and honest man with a good sense of humour who will be missed by countless family, friends and neighbours.
Flowers or donations would be welcomed to the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto.
For those who wish to attend the funeral visitation for Mr. Braga at Cardinal Funeral Home please note it is by scheduled visitation times/groups only.
As difficult a time it is when losing a loved one the family has been kind enough to extend their contact information so you can reach out to them in order to be scheduled into a group for a specific visitation period
