Dissanayake DiedrieDISSANAYAKE, Diedrie Nimalka - (January 10, 1949 - March 22, 2021, Scarborough ON)

Diedrie lived a joyous and fulfilled life as a loving and nurturing mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Born in Gampaha, Sri Lanka to parents who she also lovingly cared for; Ellen Henrietta Dissanayake (nee Sooriyabandara) and Randolph Conrad Onslow Dissanayake.

She is survived by her only son, Johann, her sister Yva (brother in law Sena), brother Vincy, and dozens of devoted nieces, nephews and their children both in Canada and Sri Lanka.

She was preceded in death by brothers Elmo, Marc, Ranjith and sister Chitra.

Diedrie was exceptionally skilled in all of her hobbies, from sewing to gardening, but most of all cooking. Her food was unmatched in flavour and prepared with love for everyone close to her. She will be remembered by all for being an endlessly cheerful, caring person, who prioritized every one of the people in her life and what she could do for them.

She was a devoted practitioner of Buddhism and a supporting member of the Toronto Mahavihara Society as well as Buddhist temples and Sanghas in Sri Lanka.

Arrangements entrusted with Ogden funeral home, Scarborough.
