MCGLADREY, Ronald Frank - With his family by his side, it's with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear patriarch, Ron.
He fought with amazing strength and courage the last few months but left us peacefully on March 24, 2021 at 86 years of age.
Born in Guelph, Ontario, he was the beloved husband of Janet.
Dear father to Martha (Dan) and Derek (Jennifer).
Loving Poppa to Ryan, Emily, Grace, Amy, Jamie and Great-Poppa to Aubree.
He was also a true pet lover to numerous family dogs, cats and horses over the years.
As an Oakville resident of almost 56 years, he was very active in local hockey, coaching both the AAA rep level and MOHA House League.
He was a long time volunteer with the Oakville Blades, eventually becoming the GM. Ron saw the team win the Ontario Games in 1975, qualifying them to represent Ontario at the Canada Games in Lethbridge, Alberta.
He also volunteered at both the Oakville Fire Dept. and the Oakville Police Dept.
Ron worked as a mechanical draftsman and soon branched into the lighting sales industry, eventually becoming an entrepreneur and opening his own sales and consulting company.
The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the OTMH Palliative Care staff in 3 North for their exceptional care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
