Whyte Lucia LucyWHYTE, Lucia Gabrielle 'Lucy' (nee Gaudreau) - (December 21, 1926 – March 24, 2021) - Passed away at the age of 94 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Surrounded by her four loving daughters, Lucy left for her journey to Heaven.

Predeceased by her loving husband Jack Whyte.

Lucy leaves behind a huge family. Four daughters Jacqueline (Ronald Kimber), Jeannette (Randy Blacquiere), Juliette (Paul Green) and Janice (Timothy Sullivan).

Ten grandchildren, Nancy (Michael Leonard), Nicole (Chris Macneil), Paul Gillespie (Jocelyn), Jennifer (Mark Casella), Jacalyn (Mike Marich), John Green (April) Janice (Darryl Delong), Janet (David Stokes), James Sullivan (Kodie), Julianne (Brett Carthew) Nineteen Great Grandchildren, Rayne, Faith, Carlye, Taylor, Thomas, Trent, Reese, Chase, Jack, Jack, Matthew, Mark, Michael, Ainsley, Jolie, Krystyna, Lucie , Colton & Jase. Five Step Great Grandchildren, Mackenzie, Liam, Raelle, Larissa and Gabby.

Lucy was born at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She was the youngest of six siblings. Her Father passed away when she was 6 years old and she grew up during The Depression. She valued everything and didn’t let anything go to waste. She adored her Ma and enjoyed a beautiful relationship with all of her siblings.

Many funny stories were passed down through the years. She worked at many jobs before becoming a Homemaker, including Laura Secords, Canada Packers, Roger’s Electronics and The American Zipper Company. While she was a Homemaker she also babysat other people’s children. This included Heather Bell who she babysat from 1967 -1977 and still had a loving relationship with the family.

There wasn’t anything that pleased Lucy more than being surrounded by her girls and their families. Lucy will be remembered for always making people feel at home with her sense of humour. The Matriarch of our huge loving family. Her hugs were the best and her love for her family was the most important thing in her life. Her delicious Sunday dinner tradition has been continued through her daughters. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever and we miss her already.

Lucy’s family would like to thank the staff at Bradford Valley Care Community which was her home for the last 9 years. Their love and warmth in her care will never be forgotten. There are too many to name over the years and we wouldn’t want to leave any one out. We are truly so grateful for them.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A private family service will be held on Monday. Arrangements entrusted with Taylor funeral home, Newmarket.
