Bodrug JohnBODRUG, John Douglas  -  John Douglas Bodrug, age 86, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on March 21, 2021 in the company of his wife and his treasured dogs.

John passed at his home in Copan Ruinas, Honduras, where he had lived for the past nine years with his wife of 24 years, Marianne (Willnich), in a small and caring local community.

He was born on April 25, 1934 in Toronto, Ontario at the family home to Nestor and Muriel (Bell) Bodrug.

John attended Etobicoke Collegiate and obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto.

On April 1, 1961, John married Helen Logan and together they had two children. John's business career included executive positions with Esso Chemical, Industrial Grain Products (a subsidiary of Labatt), Maple Leaf Mills and Canada Post. In his post-corporate years, John took great joy in raising horses, chickens, goats and other animals.

At age 78, his sense of adventure took him and Marianne to Honduras where he strived to improve the lives of those around him by bringing running water to a local community and playing Santa while hosting annual Christmas feasts for their many neighbours.

John was a man with a big heart who touched many people's lives in extraordinary ways.

He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and integrity by his wife Marianne, his son John (Christine) Bodrug, daughter Diana (Michael) Stahl, step-son Alexander Knack, former wife Helen, sister Mary Farrow, and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step- great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother William Bodrug.

John was buried on his farm in Honduras. For those who wish to express sympathy, please consider donating to www.canadiandachshundrescue.com or to your local humane society in John's name.
