LAMBIRIS, John - It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of John, on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the age of 92.
John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 63 years, Kety (nee Lathouri), his loving daughters Jenny and Amy, and his son-in-law Nick.
Cherished papou to Katerina, Demitra, Dean, and Joanna.
John is predeceased by his parents, Eugenia and Pericles, and his siblings, Voula and Stathi.
John immigrated to Canada from Kalamata, Greece in 1957 to marry Kety, the love of his life. The early years were difficult, but they worked very hard to establish a good life for themselves here. Together they operated a successful dry-cleaning business in East York for over 25 years and were beloved within their community.
John was a very proud and generous man whose devotion to family was unparalleled. John will be missed by generations of family, and friends, both in Canada and Greece.
You will forever live in our hearts.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family will hold a private funeral visitation at Heritage Funeral Centre, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, followed by a private service at St. Demetrios Orthodox Church, on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or other charity of your choice in John’s honour are appreciated.
