GREENSLADE, John "Jack" Denis - It is with heavy hearts that the family of "Jack" Greenslade announces his sudden passing on April 22, 2021, while on a walk in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto.
Jack was born on August 21, 1928 in Toronto's East end, spending his youth on both Woodbine and Danforth Avenues. He would call the city home for nearly all of his 92 plus years.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Ellen (Mcguire), his loving wife and best friend Valerie Clarkson, his sister Catharine and her husband Louis Egerton, his niece Catherine (Cathy) Egerton, and nephews Jim and Paul Egerton.
Jack is survived by his dear sister Sr. Marie Greenslade (Sisters of the Precious Blood, Hamilton) and by his loving nephews and nieces, Bernie, Theresa, Peter, Mary Lou, Anne, John, and their families.
The family wishes to acknowledge the attending members of the Toronto Emergency Services for their efforts in trying to save the life of our beloved brother and uncle.
In Jack's memory donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Due to COVID restrictions, the visitation and funeral services will be held privately by invitation only.
While the family wishes you could all be with them in their time of loss, they appreciate your kind words and condolences.
