HAMBLY, Ying Shang - With her loving family at her side, Ying passed away on April, 27, 2021 at the age of 44 at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit after a short illness.
Ying was a loving wife, daughter, niece, cousin and friend to many.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas, her mother Lie Qiu, her father Li Cheng, Aunt Donna, Uncle Li Min, cousin Josh, Douglas’s parents Peter and Alice Hambly, Douglas’s sister Jennifer and husband Mike Brooks, her many cousins and relatives including her beloved westie Abby.
Ying was born in Shanghai, China and emigrated to Argentina where she grew up. In 2004 the family moved to Canada and settled in Scarborough. Ying was a talented accountant and had a successful career.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her quick wit and incredible intelligence. The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Ying including a quiet evening at home with her husband and her loving dog Abby. She will be sorely missed and will be in our hearts forever.
