Lister EllaLISTER, Ella "Jeanne" Marie  -  "There are no goodbyes for us.

Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts." Mahatma Gandhi Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of Edwin (Ed) Lister (1989).

Loving mother of Dianne Lister, Brian Lister (Georgie) and Steve Lister (Jill).

Proud grandmother of Jason Weinberger, Sarah Weinberger, Marshall Lister and Elizabeth Lister.

Jeanne also enjoyed the family pets, Cody, Maggie and Appa.

Jeanne came from a large family of 11 children, and is survived by her two sisters, June Hanson and Ruby Burbine.

Jeanne will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jeanne was born in Alliston, and lived in Unionville until she moved to Toronto at the tender age of 17 to work and live. She met Ed and they married when Jeanne was 20 and Ed 21. They shared a loving and very happy life together.

Jeanne cared for Ed during his lengthy demise from Multiple Sclerosis. She held Ed in her heart for 32 years until she passed away, and we know they will be reunited now.

A strong and dedicated matriarch, Jeanne helped her children and grandchildren many times over the years, and was particularly protective of and caring for her younger sisters, Betty and Donna and their families. For 33 years Jeanne was an active volunteer with the Women's Auxiliary at the Scarborough General Hospital where she tended the gift shop, and brought the tuck cart to patients.

The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff at Royal Gardens who cared for Jeanne during the last seven years, especially Barbara, Kelly and Caitlyn.

The family is so appreciative of the kind and compassionate care provided by the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, and in particular, the Palliative Care unit.

A private service has been held.

A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held at a later date.

In her honour, donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
