Kirshenblat DianeKIRSHENBLAT, Diane (Mary) (nee McKAY)   - June 18, 1942 - May 21, 2021

Much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many, passed peacefully at her husband's side, after a hard fought battle with ALS.

Diane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marvin Kirshenblat, daughter Andrea Lewis (Mark Wlodarczyk), and son Jonathan Kirshenblat (Breanne McColman).

Best of all, she was a most cherished Gamma to Aaron Wlodarczyk and Kershaw and Gwendolyn Kirshenblat.

Diane was born, raised, and lived her whole life in Hamilton.

She attended high school at Cathedral and went on to enjoy a career of over 40 years with the hospital system in Hamilton, managing the chemistry labs at both St. Joseph's Hospital, and later at the General.

Perhaps her favourite achievement was pioneering the installation of a pneumatic tube system at St. Joseph's to facilitate quick delivery of test results from the chemistry lab.

Yearly budgets were a less loved task tackled in the evenings with lots of Cheezies. Diane was an avid reader and loved her book clubs.

She loved her neighbours and community and volunteered her time when her grandson Aaron was young at George R. Allan school.

She loved art and in her retirement attended classes and volunteered at the Dundas Valley School of Art.

She will be deeply missed by many.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the ALS Society at ALS.ca.
