SHEPHARD, James Gordon - On Friday, May 21, 2021, at North York General Hospital, at the age of 83, James Gordon Shephard peacefully passed away.
Beloved husband of Marlene (Fee) and father of Catherine (Steve Plener), Peter and Gordon (Paula), Jim was also the very proud grandfather of Alexander, Nicholas and Julian Shephard and Rebecca and Samuel Plener.
Born in Scarborough, Jim spent his teenage summers working at the family greenhouses where he acquired his lifelong love of gardening.
He had fond memories of growing up with his bother Walter and the many adventures they shared together.
Jim was a devoted educator in the Scarborough Board of Education where he worked as a teacher and principal, retiring after 33 years.
Jim and Marlene, enthusiastic travellers, enjoyed many trips abroad.
An avid outdoorsman, Jim loved to spend time at his Haliburton cottage with his family.
There will be a celebration of life later this summer.
