COSGROVE, A. Marie   -  Marie passed away peacefully Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Richmond Hill Mackenzie Hospital.

Born October 9, 1931, she was predeceased by her parents and her sister Anita Stillman (December 18, 2020) and brother-in-law Gord.

Marie was raised in Cobourg, Ontario where she completed high school before heading to Sault St. Marie for a few years before working as an Admin Assistant for a Hamilton General Hospital doctor.

Following a three-year stint in the medical field, Marie moved to Toronto to teach business at Northview Heights Secondary School for 15 years before becoming a Special Education teacher at Mackenzie Collegiate, the Sunnybrook Hospital School followed by several years of teaching Special Education and working as an Admin Assistant in the front office at Victoria Park Secondary School.

Marie led an active life, was an avid skier and golfer, spent her summers at a family cottage before venturing into the world of travel to far off places where she travelled extensively in Europe, Russia and Egypt.

Marie loved animals and had many dogs and cats during her lifetime. Her current cat, Sophie brought Marie much pleasure and comfort especially in these last few years.

A thoughtful, kind individual Marie was a friend to many. She lived a long rewarding life.

There will be no funeral service due to Covid-19. Her ashes will be buried in a family plot in Penetanguishene.

Sadly missed by longstanding friends Marg Fina, Joyce Delliac, Don Little, Fred Diaz, Mary Ellen Lawless, Tony Fahidi, Dr. Bernice Snider and Dorothy Hollingsworth.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Toronto Humane Society or a charity of your own choice.
