Jansen Osborne BettyJANSEN-OSBORNE, Betty  - July 31, 1926 - May 23, 2021

Betty Jansen-Osborne, Malden, the Netherlands, dearly loved wife of Kees Jansen (deceased 2017) was born in Bowmanville, ON, the eldest child of Greeta and Russell Osborne.

Betty will be lovingly missed by her sisters Madeline MacLeod, London, ON, Lenore Coulson, Oshawa, ON, Eleanor O'Neil, Picton, ON and brother James, Port Perry, ON.

She will be remembered by her nieces and nephews, Elizabeth MacLeod, Laurie, Caroline and Richard Coulson and Kelly, Terri, Tracy and Kevin O'Neil.

Betty attended a one-room country school for her first 8 grades followed by Bowmanville High School before graduating from the University of Toronto in Physiotherapy.

Following university, Betty began practicing Physiotherapy at Brantford Hospital but soon moved back to Toronto to practice at Women's College Hospital.

In 1957, her enthusiasm for adventure again took hold and she and a nursing friend headed to Europe.

In the spring of 1958, Betty returned to Canada with Kees coming shortly after to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. However, he did not stay in Canada as was the case for many young men from The Netherlands in those years. Instead, they decided that Betty would move to The Netherlands.

She and Kees lived a full and rewarding life together. Unfortunately, in her last few years, after losing much of her hearing and following the loss of her husband, dementia set in.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Cremation and a COVID-19 restricted funeral at the Protestant church in Heumen has taken place.
