Duff BobDUFF, Bob   -  Bob passed away peacefully at home, on July 2, 2021, in his 85th year, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his beloved wife and best friend Susan by his side.

Loving and devoted father of Jeff (Shelley) and Janis (Neil). Cherished grandfather of Luke, Alisha and Brooke (Jamie). Loving uncle to Debbie, Natalie, John, Dustin, Denen, Kevin and Kayla.

Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Luella and brothers Lorne and Gary. Bob served in the RCMP and CSIS for 31 years.

He had several detachment postings in Northern Ontario before being transferred to Special Branch in Toronto. He was sent to university in Ottawa and completed a BA and MA.

There were several transfers between Ottawa and Toronto during his career.

He also served as Liaison Officer for the RCMP in London, England. With the formation of CSIS in 1984, Bob became the Director General of CSIS for Toronto Region. He retired in September 1986 to become the Manager of Corporate Security for Imperial Oil where he spent the next 16 years.

Bob was an active member of the RCMP Veterans Association, the Pillar Society (CSIS Vets), the Royal Canadian Legion, Twin Lakes Probus Club (past president), Champlain Seniors and the Orillia Shrine Club.

In 2012, Bob was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for his work with CSIS and the Pillar Society. He will be dearly missed by all.

The family will receive guests at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, Orillia, on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the time we celebrate his life in the chapel starting at 2 p.m. If you are planning to attend the celebration of life, you must reserve a space due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, by calling the funeral home within regular business hours.

The family would like to thank Paramed PSWs, Bayshore Nursing, and NP Joanne for all their support and help and being able to keep Bob at home. Thank you also to neighbours and friends for their support.

If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Branch of the Salvation Army will be accepted and are greatly appreciated.
