Hendershot BobHENDERSHOT, Robert 'Bob' William - In his 83rd year, Robert sadly passed away on June 29, 2021 after a lengthy illness with courage and dignity.

Bob was a wonderful husband to Liz, beloved father to Nikki and Papa to Callan who he adored.

Family always came first! Bob loved his road trips and instilled that love with his family. Over the years, they had many wonderful adventures.

The beach will always remain a favourite.

Bob went on to graduate from McMaster University in Honours Mathematics and began his career as an educator with the East York Board.

Bob always spoke highly of his years in East York. He became principal of East York Collegiate and then Overlea Secondary which was later renamed Marc Garneau Collegiate. This was an exciting time as he was invited to Marc’s second launch into space. Along with the renaming, the staff and admin developed a Science and Technology program which has been modelled by other schools. Bob cared deeply about his students and staff, and always loved when they would come up and introduce themselves.

In later years, Bob enjoyed his time participating in activities at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in North Toronto making many lifelong friends.

A small celebration to honour Bob will be held at a later date according to his wishes.

Bob was a volunteer for many years for Adopt-a-dog/Save-a-life and along the way, ended up adopting many of these needy dogs. He was always so caring and patient with their special needs.

Please consider making a donation to Adopt-a-dog/Save-a-life in his memory.
