Muttart SheilaMUTTART, Sheila Margaret (nee MacDONALD)    - It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished Sheila with daughter, Heather at her side on July 3, 2021 in Scarborough, Ontario.

Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Treasured friend to so many people across the country especially Toronto and Prince Edward Island.

Sheila was loved and admired by all who knew her. Dearly missed and survived by loving husband, Graham, daughters Heather Lawrence (Dan Crook), Kathy Garvey (Gerry Garvey), grandsons Austin Garvey and Scott Lawrence (Fallon Pitt and great-granddaughter Beatrice), siblings Ron MacDonald and Lorna Hogan and several nieces and a nephew.

Special thanks for support to niece, Linda Grearson. Also deeply missed by step-family Kevin Crook, Ryan Crook (Elissa Grindatto and step-great-grandchildren, Camille and Byron).

Predeceased by sisters, Jean Grearson, Flora MacDonald and Helen Moffitt.

Sheila was born in North Sydney, Cape Breton on May 5, 1931 to parents, Fred and Molly MacDonald. She completed the nursing program at the Halifax Victoria General Hospital in 1952.

Graham and Sheila were married in September 1954. Her nursing career began at the Toronto Western Hospital. Sheila later earned a Public Health degree at the University of Toronto. She then, worked for Public Health in Scarborough for the balance of her career.

Sheila cared deeply for people and was a nurse to the very end.

Sheila lived an energetic life to the fullest as an award-winning gardener, speed skater, bridge player, adamant Blue Jays fan, world traveller, music enthusiast, extraordinary Cèilidh hostess, proud Cape Bretoner and a good and generous friend to many.

We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at the McCowan Retirement Residence and Yee Hong Hospice for the wonderful and attentive care they provided to Sheila.

Sheila simply could not have been in better places.

A celebration of Sheila's life will be held once pandemic restrictions are lifted.

In the meantime memories of Sheila and condolences can be emailed to Dan Crook This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Donations in memoriam can be made to one of Sheila and Graham's favourite venues, the Indian River Festival in Prince Edward Island.
