Hughes JuneHUGHES, June (nee ARMSTRONG)   - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Hilda June Hughes (nee Armstrong) on July 9, 2021 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington – just 9 days and 10 minutes after our Dad, Walter, passed away.

Their love story continues after almost 66 years of marriage.

They spent their life together and this is the saving grace that neither one will ever be alone. She peacefully passed away one month after her 89th birthday.

June was a loving wife, adored mother and cherished grandmother.

She will be missed immensely by her children: Sandy Thompson (Dave), Greg (Rossell) and Steve (Cathy); and her grandchildren: Wade (Lindsay) and Brett (Natalie), Jesse and Kiana, Tyler and Brendan.

Mom was born 7th of eleven children to Orval Eason Armstrong (deceased 1943) and Martha May Hastings (deceased 1981).

She loved being part of a large family - she had always said there was never a dull moment growing up. She was predeceased by her siblings Murray, Lorna, Bill, Mary, Ken, Don, Laura and Paul.

She will be missed by her sister Diane (Bill) and her brother Garnet, and her many nieces and nephews.

As per Mom's request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.

The next time you sit around the table for a game of cards, think fondly of her. Love you Mom... we'll miss you.
