Sumairsingh RussellSUMAIRSINGH, Russell - It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the untimely passing of Russell Sumairsingh.

Russell left us peacefully on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 67 years young, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer.

Russell, affectionately known as Badis, was born in San Fernando, Trinidad on December 18, 1953, to Rupert and Rosie Sumairsingh (both pre-deceased).

Russell migrated to Canada on December 22, 1987, where he worked and enjoyed many years in the trucking industry.

Russell will be greatly missed by his wife and life partner of 26 years Gail Sumairsingh, son Nigel Sumairsingh (Catia), stepchildren Andre (Val) Nigel (Alyce) and Kristen (Devin).

Russell was the beloved grandfather of Aaliyah, Taj, Jordan, Emma, Trinity, Anaya, Dreyson, Braxton, Kera and Kai.

Adored brother of Shirley (Donald), Sybil, Marilyn, Ronald (Merilyn), Roderick, Winston (deceased) (Sita), Leslie, Maureen, Linda (Bryan) and countless nieces and nephews.

Russell was a wonderful man with a heart of gold and a smile that can light up the darkest room. He loved his family endlessly and will be missed daily. May he rest in eternal paradise with the Lord he so faithfully served.

Visitation and the service will be held at Word of Faith International Christian Center, 65 Sunrise Ave., Toronto on Thursday, August 5th, 2021.

Psalms: 118, Verse 17
