Shirley Gertrude Tucker of St. John's/Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, passed peacefully away at her home in Brampton, Ontario, after a lengthy illness with COPD.

She was surrounded by her so, John, daughter in-law Catherine, two of her grandsons Jeffery and Ryan, and two of her sisters, Linda and Rochelle.

Predeceased by her husband D. Bruce Tucker; parents Jack and Gladys Kelloway; brothers Stirling, Ray, Maxwell, Bob, Derek and Randy.

Leaving to mourn her family; John (Catherine), David (Adella), Bruce (Virginia), Grandchildren; Megan, Jeffery, Tyler (Kelsey), Ryan, Melissa (Shaun), David, Marcus (Amanda), Jessica (Ryan), Great-Grandchildren; Calibre, Gracie, Isaac, Ethan, Charlotte, Marcus, Lily, Emma, Ryan and Liam.

Also leaving to mourn, loving sisters Joan, Roslyn, Linda (Edward), Rochelle (Alfonso), Special friends Anita & John Harte; numerous nieces and nephews and their families in both St. John's and Hamilton; as well as many foster children.

Shirley "Toots" fought this debilitating disease with great courage and dignity after dedicating her life to helping humanitarian causes; nursing her husband, Bruce, through his disease, always lending a helping hand to family and fostering teenaged girls, who still hold her in the highest regard today. She was also very proud of her fostering activities with Beagle Paws and the St. John's SPCA for cats in her later years.

As per Shirley's request, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in St. John's at a later date.

Heartfelt thanks to the Brameast Palliative Care team, as well as Dr S. Giridhar and Amanda MacLennan; Leora, and the staff and volunteers, of Hearthouse Hospice; Michelle at Spectrum Nursing; Care Partners; Christine (Care Coordinator) at LHIN and the doctor's and nursing staff at Brampton Civic Hospital (General Med, 4th floor).

We would also like to thank the staff at Scott Funeral Home, Brampton for the outstanding service and care given to both mum and ourselves, with special mention to Stefanie Graham.
