Grant ElisabethGRANT, Marie Elisabeth - Was called Home on Friday, August 6, 2021, from Scarborough General Hospital.

She was the much-loved daughter of Jean Elizabeth (Cooper) Sutherst (d. 1989) and The Rev. Frederick Charles Sutherst (d. 2012), and is now with them in her Heavenly Father’s presence.

She is survived by her older sister, Marilyn Anne Sutherst of Peterborough, who was with her when she died.

Elisabeth was born in Dunnville, ON., attended school in Peterborough and graduated from Toronto Bible College in 1967.

She worked for the Mennonite Central Committee in Omaha, Nebraska for one year before spending time with both the Children’s Aid and the Salvation Army Homes in Toronto.

She then worked for the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec as office manager and then assistant-treasurer for 25 years.

Elisabeth came to Beaches in the early 90’s and has been a mainstay of the congregation since.

She will be greatly missed for her pastoral care of others, her wonderful sense of humour, her strong work ethic and her patience. We were richer for her care and poorer at her loss.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: World Vision, The Heart and Stroke Foundation and Beaches Presbyterian Church.
