BURROWS, Muriel Joyce (nee MAGNAN)   - Passed peacefully Monday, April 27, 2020 at her home in Jackson's Point, Ontario.

A dedicated and loving mother and grandlady, she is survived by her beloved children and grandchildren: Heather (Rich) Davies son James; Jennifer (Timothy Grier) and sons Jeremy and Matthew; Frank (Elizabeth) and sons Benjamin and Luke; and Tania (Andy Perrotti) and children Rachel, Sarah, and Nathan.

Born October 31, 1926 in Toronto, Ontario, she spent her teenage years in Caledonia, Ontario and received a Bachelor of Social Work from Trinity College at the University of Toronto in 1952.

Joyce moved to Georgina in 1956 with her beloved husband of 59 years, the late Dr. George Burrows (1928- 2015), where she helped build his practice, first in Sutton and then in Jackson's Point.

She had a passion for fostering loving communities that was obvious to all who knew her and continued to be involved in social work through her work with the Blue Hills Child and Family Centre board of directors, including a term as president.

In 2004 Joyce was awarded Georgina's Citizen of the Year for her many dedicated years of community service.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fran McCordic, Beth Brotherston RN and all the staff at Lakeview Manor. We would also like to thank Melissa Cassidy NP with the Georgina Nurse Practitioner led clinic and the palliative care team for their compassion and care and Canon W. David Neelands for his visitations at the home.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, 408 Hedge Road, Georgina, on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Interment, St. George's Anglican Church Historical Churchyard Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Georgina Community Health Care Council in support of the rebuilding of the Nurse Practitioner led clinic (previously, Georgina Medical Clinic) or to the Anglican Parishes of Georgina.
