Foster EdnaFORSTER, Edna Anne (nee ORR)   - April 18, 1946 (Alliston, Ontario) – August 6, 2021 (Oakville, Ontario)

Edna was the beloved wife of Barry Forster for 54 years and devoted mother to Kristen, Erin, and Andrew and grandmother to Kavita, Fiona, Karina and William.

Relieved from a challenging family situation at a young age, she was raised with her sister Florence by Keith and Vera Kneeshaw.

This loving and caring environment shaped Edna in her formative years to be caring, self-reliant, and value the merits of education as a means to become independent in life.

Growing up on the 5th line south of Bond Head on the farm was a wonderful environment for Edna who enjoyed singing in the Bond Head United Church junior choir, driving the tractor at a young age and learning good values and morals which provided a strong foundation for her life.

In moving to Toronto to pursue a career in her chosen field of teaching, she met a dashing young man straight off the farm from St. Mary's, Ontario.

The common threads of their childhoods brought them together into a successful marriage of 54 years.

After a career in education catering to special needs students, English as a second language students and primary grades, Edna retired in 2006 to enjoy leisure time.

Regrettably, dementia altered those plans, but with the unfaltering 24-hour care of her husband, Edna was able to continue to enjoy time with family at home and the cottage.

The Forster family wishes to express gratitude for the wonderful care received by the staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Upon Edna's admission there in late July, the team provided empathetic and professional care and support through to the end of life journey.

Edna will be cremated and arrangements for a celebration of life will be communicated at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Oakville Hospital Foundation's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program: https://ohf.akaraisin.com/ui/PersonalPages/participant/7088014?Lang=en-CA.
