Beebe GerryBEEBE, Gerald 'Gerry' Laverne - Peacefully at Amica, Georgetown, on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Gerry Beebe, in his 91st year, beloved husband of Jean (nee Ferguson), loving father of Grant and Charlene (John), cherished grandfather of Emilia, Ellen, Maevis, and Dawson.

Gerry was the eldest son of Dawson and Greta, of Morrish, Ontario. He is survived by his sister Enid, and his two brothers, Howard and Floyd.

Born in Port Hope, Gerry grew up on the family farm, and attended Port Hope High School. He excelled as a student and athlete, making his mark in both baseball and basketball. It was during his high school years that the travel bug bit Gerry.

Gerry attended the Ryerson Institute of Technology. Upon graduating in 1955 with a diploma in Electronics Technology, he began work with Northern Telecom in Belleville.

It was while attending Ryerson, and returning home in the summers to work and play baseball, that Gerry met the lovely Jean, an aspiring nurse. Jean and her sister Gladys were regulars at the Welcome ball diamond, cheering on a certain tall, handsome, blond haired pitcher.

They wed in 1959, and lived in Belleville until 1964, when Gerry’s work at Northern Telecom brought them to the burgeoning community of Peel Village, in Brampton.

Gerry’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Amica, Georgetown, the caregivers from Seniors Care by Angels, Milton, and the nurses and administrative staff from the Mississauga Halton LHIN for their compassion and devotion to Gerry’s comfort and well-being.

The family would also like to express their appreciation to Gerry and Jean’s friends and neighbors for their support and condolences.
