Secord WilliamSECORD, William David    -  January 1949 - September 2021

On September 9, 2021, Dave, beloved husband of Kaye Jackson, passed away at Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre in Cobourg, Ontario after a challenging and courageous battle with cancer.

Dave was predeceased by his parents Bill Secord and Isabel McCagg and will be missed by his siblings Frances Enns, Mary Lou Secord (Lynn Marie) and Hugh Secord (Lesly).

He is the brother-in-law of Roger Jackson (Linda) Bob Jackson (Lynette) and Martha Kress.

Dave's death is such a loss not only for his wife Kaye, but also for his family and many friends.

For those who knew Dave, they knew someone who was without artifice - a genuine human being who was not only generous, kind and compassionate but also a true gentleman.

Dave was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Cobourg.

This group provided Dave with many cherished friendships and he came to consider them as his extended family. He loved being in the club and truly couldn't believe that people could be so very wonderful.

Our thanks go to the amazing clinical team at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Dave's family physician Dr. Kirk Haunts, to the Northumberland Palliative Care Team and the staff at Ed's House Hospice Care Centre.

Special thanks also go to Mary Lou (Dave's sister) who did all the driving for every Toronto appointment. Our sincere thanks also to the many people whose extraordinary acts of kindness and caring sustained Kaye and Dave throughout his illness. Due to COVID-19 concerns for everyone, there will be no visitation.

A private Memorial Service for family will be held.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
