COSTANTINI, Gabriele - Passed away on the morning of September 30, 2021. He passed peacefully in his sleep.

Pre-deceased by his wife Nicoletta, whom he loved dearly and missed every single day since her passing on October 1, 2006. Also pre-deceased by his parents Filomena and Pietro, and his in laws Giustina and Antonio.

Gabriele was born October 4, 1941 in Garyan, Libya. He would proudly tell people “sono L’Africano”. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 with his parents, and brother Domenic.

Although he was never one for school and always got in trouble by the priests in school in Italy, he decided he would pursue being a mechanic and was a great mechanic and worked very hard his entire life. As he would say he came here with nothing but the clothes on his back.

In 1962 he met the love of his life, Nicoletta, after seeing her at his uncle’s grocery store. He followed her home and asked for permission to date/marry her and they were together happily until her passing.

He was a fighter and truly survived so many health challenges. It was a bit unexpected as we all thought he would pull through this one too.

He was father to Antoinette (Tony) and Peter (Mary), and grandfather to Frank, Nicole and Gabriel (Jr) and Vanessa. We all appreciated everything he did for us and the life he built for the family. We all went to see him that last week in the hospital and it was like he could now close the chapter and part from us. He will be sadly missed by his brother Domenic and bother/sister in laws Giulia, Nick, and Teresa. He will also be missed by his godson Tony and other friends and family.
He was truly one of a kind.

October 4th, we wanted to celebrate his 80th birthday but now we bury him and celebrate his life on this earth. We know you are reunited with all of the family that departed before you, but especially your wife and your niece Fanny.

We miss you already. Dad, behave up there! Until we see you again. We love you.
