MENESES, Maria Graciomilde - (1938 - 2021) - Maria Graciomilde Nunes Meneses passed away too soon on Monday September 27th, 2021 at the age of 83.
Born in Lajes, Terceira, Portugal, she is the daughter of the late Guilhermina Mendes de Freitas & Manuel de Sousa Nunes and the sister to Benilde (Alvarino), Ramiro (Lucia), Alcindo (Alda), Idalina (Adelino), Quelminda (Joao) and the late Manuel (Ilda) and Rosa (Raimundo).
Survived by her loving husband of 61 years Joaquim and their four children Lino (Elvira), Alina, Ana and Marco (Liana). Most precious in her heart were her four grandchildren Luke, Julia, Laura and Sarah which she fondly helped care for during their pre-school years.
Graciomilde was a selfless maternal soul who felt most comfortable when caring for others. This was demonstrated caring for her parents at their bed side until their final breathe. As the oldest daughter, she played a pivotal role at a very early age in raising her siblings which became the foundation of why family was so important to her.
She was an extremely hard-working woman and took pride in doing things well. She demanded everything of herself and asked little of others.
She will be forever missed.
