SZKOLKA, Halina - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Halina on September 30, 2021 at the blessed age of 87.
Beloved wife of the late Peter; loving mother to Judy Madden (late Dennis), Lola Mikisz (late Doug) and Sandra West (Phil); doting grandmother to Tamara Madden and Michael Madden (Katie); adoring great-grandmother to Gabriel, Noah, Kailar and Bradley; dear aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt to many in Canada and Poland.
Predeceased by brother Alexander.
She was the Canadian mother to 110+ international students who all loved her and especially loved her borscht!
Halina was born in Poland and relocated to Germany during WWII.
Following that, she went to Belgium and then to Canada. Proudly retired from General Electric and always active with the church and community.
Anything Halina touched, simply flourished including her garden, her home, her cooking and the love of her family and close friends.
