PORTER, Bruce - Died on October 5, 2021 Teacher’s Day, after a long and courageous battle with mantle cell lymphoma.
Bruce’s loving care and constant support gave strength to his family: his wife, Jessie, his daughter, Julie, his son-in-law, Gerry, and his grandchildren, Harper and Declan.
He leaves behind his cousin, Gerry Kruk, his brothers-in-law, Arch Ritter and Doug Ritter and their families.
After graduating from the University of Toronto in Honours Mathematics and Physics, Bruce began teaching.
He loved teaching mathematics to students at Lawrence Park Collegiate, Riverdale Collegiate, Forest Hill Collegiate, Humberside Collegiate and the Toronto French School.
He was grateful for the close connections he made with colleagues and students.
When he retired from teaching, Bruce took special delight in connecting with friends through energy healing. He was grateful for a long life filled with love and miracles, and would wish to thank friends for their many kindnesses.
He would also wish to thank Stephen Pollitt, and Fern Wolf for Source Energy Healing, and Dr. Neil Berinstein and the Palliative Care staff at Sunnybrook.
At Bruce’s request, there will be no memorial service.
If desired, in honour of Bruce’s life, donations may be made to Medecins Sans Frontieres, or Haven of the Heart: Animal Sanctuary.
