Cheung Kit ChingCHEUNG, Kit-Ching - (2 October, 1924 – 30 September, 2021) -

Kit-Ching Cheung was born in Guangdong, China on October 2, 1924. She grew up in Hong Kong and married Wing-Lin Hui from China in 1943. Shortly after, she gave birth to 1 daughter and 2 sons.

After her children grew up, they moved to North America. She and her husband decided to follow and immigrated to Toronto in September 1974 to live with her daughter and her family. She loved raising her two grand-daughters.

In 1984, she and her husband moved out and lived happily in a senior apartment. She love to and always looked forward to visiting her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and her great grandchildren who lived in California in the summer. One of her highlights was a cruise trip with all her children and family to Mexico in 2007.

She continued to live independently after her husband passed away in 1993 until 2019 when she moved to Carefree Lodge long-term care. She had so much support from her church community at Toronto Chinese Methodist church. She also loved and was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She departed from this world peacefully on September 30, 2021 — just 2 days shy of her 97th birthday.

Kit-Ching leaves behind her daughter Garbo (Sam), sons Edmond (Shirley) and Edmund (Helen) , and grandchildren Kay (Allen), Elsie (Carl), Jennifer, Arthur (Emy), Nathaniel and Janelle — and her great grand children : Kara, Madelyn, Everett, Jonah, Gideon, Darin, and Joelle.

Appreciation is extended to the staff and clinical team at Carefree Lodge Nursing Home for their dedication and care for Mrs. Cheung particularly for the past two years she lived there.

Arrangements and livestream service details are entrusted with Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, in Thornhill.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kit-Ching's memory may be made to Toronto Chinese Methodist Church, 8 Metropolitan Road, Scarboroug, ON M1R 2T6 CA.
