RAIMONDO, Maria - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished wife, mother and grandmother on October 6, 2021, peacefully in her 88th year.
Beloved wife of Costanzo for 64 years.
Devoted mother to Giuseppe and his wife Lucia, Costanzo and his wife Annie and Nicolina and her husband Rocco.
Loving Nonna to Daniele (Vanessa), Laura, Joseph, Analisa, Joseph, Maria and David and Bisnonna to Rafaella.
Fondly remembered by her brothers Carmen, Dominic and Antonio and sisters Olga and Lina.
Maria was born in Montorio nei Frentani, Campobasso, Italy where she met and married her devoted husband, Costanzo, before emigrating to Canada in the late fifties. As their family grew, they established Raimondo Supermarket, a successful and prosperous family business where Maria was the anchor for over 35 years.
She was a savvy businessperson who took a genuine interest in all of her customers and many became lifelong friends.
Nothing brought Maria more joy than when her family gathered together.
Maria was a genuine, caring and gentle soul. She was respected, loved and adored for her kindness and generosity. She greeted everyone with a smile and a sparkle in her eye. Our lives have dimmed with her passing.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Maria’s caregivers, especially Vanessa, Maria, Yeelena and Marissa for their exceptional care over the past few years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 9pm at Bernardo Funeral Home, Dufferin Chapel, Toronto. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church (1415 Royal York Road) at 11 am on Thursday, October 14, followed by Interment.
