Sicotte MarieSICOTTE, Marie Pauline - With sadness, love and profound gratitude, the family of Marie Sicotte announces her passing on October 15th, 2021 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital at the age of 83.

Marie is survived by Gerry, her loving husband of 62 years, her daughter Nicole and son-in-law Mike Blais.

She was predeceased by her daughter Carole Sicotte- Blais and by her parents Joseph and Germaine (Bourgeois) Blais.

Marie was the sixth of twelve children. Sisters Diane Wynn (Denis), the late Bernadette (late Jean-Paul), the late Susanne, her brothers Maurice (late Denise), Henry (Laura), Victor (Pauline), Raymond (late Diane), the late Donald (Caroline), Normand (Irene), the late Oscar and the late Andre (Lilian).

Marie will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Henriette and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mom was born in Timmins and moved to Sudbury as a child.  She worked in the family business “Sunshine Produce” packing apples for the local grocery stores.

My Mom wanted to thank Annmarie Hogan for all of the support she gave to her family since the passing of her beautiful daughter, Carole, in January 2021. She also greatly appreciated the care and advise that Annmarie gave her during her year of treatment.

The family would like to thank Dr. Solow, Dr. Abdel-Malek, the nurses and staff of the Oncology Clinic and 1 Centre from Markham Stouffville Hospital for their dedication, kindness and compassion during this past year and especially during the last few days of her life.

A special thank you to nurse Andrea from 1 Centre. Her skills, understanding and spiritual guidance provided great comfort during my mother’s final days so memorable.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie Pauline Sicotte can be made to the Markham Stouffville
Oncology Clinic.
