Cooper GordCOOPER, Gordon Elliott - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Cooper on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Gordon passed quietly at home, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Joanne; his children, Matthew (Karen), Andrew (Melanie), and Sara (Jake); and his grandchildren, Sam, Natasha, Ben, Emily, Foster and Pippa (to whom he was affectionately known as 'Gordo').

Gordon lived a great life and had many accomplishments. He finished high school two years early and went on to study at the University of Toronto. He then decided to attend Law School at Osgoode Hall. He married a beautiful model and began a successful legal career with Goodman & Carr.

One of his favourite places to spend time was the country property he and Joanne purchased in the early 1980s. Known as Windy Ridge, it quickly became a gathering place for family and friends, including Gordon's beloved boxer 'Charlie'. Many weekends and holidays were spent there, and Gordon enjoyed working on various projects to maintain and improve the property.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Gordon. In particular, we would like to thank Graciela and her team of PSWs who provided Gordon with exceptional care in a loving and dignified manner during his last days.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a donation to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care.
