GILBERT, John Frederick   -   Passed suddenly at Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 90 years old. John was a sweet, kind, thoughtful man who cared deeply about others.

He had a winning smile and never lost his charm. He was married three times and appreciated the love, care, and companionship each wife gave him.

After growing up in Toronto, he began a successful 20-year career as a chef in the Army, before bringing his skills to St. John's School in Uxbridge for the next 20 years. He leaves behind his dear wife, Joan Termina, with whom he recently celebrated their 10th anniversary.

They had a loving relationship and were deeply grateful for the time they had together. She and her family will forever feel the loss.

John will be missed by his brother David Gilbert (Loraine) who is now his last remaining sibling, his first wife Lorraine Vanstone and their three remaining children: son John, daughter Diane, and daughter-in-law Cheryl.

He will also be missed by his grandchildren (Charles, Timothy, Lori, Christina, Caitlyn, John David, Kody, and Karl), many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

John was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers, as well as his son Fred Gilbert.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, Toronto. A small family service will follow by invitation only.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
