NISHIMURA, Carl Kaoru Nishimura, B.A.Sc., P. Eng.    - September 10, 1958 – October 22, 2021

It is with profound sadness that the family of Carl Nishimura announces his peaceful passing, on October 22, 2021, at age 63, surrounded by his dearly beloved wife Saori, his loving daughter Lisa and loving son Michael, at home in Waterford, Michigan, after a valiant year-and-a-half battle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his parents George and Kimiko Nishimura of Mississauga, brother Eugene (Francesca) of Richmond Hill, sister Rosanne (Dean) of Mississauga, brother Mark (Shirley) of Toronto, and many in-laws, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada and Japan.

Carl was born in Toronto and had a lifelong career as a general sales manager with a Japanese auto parts company, which took him and his family from Ontario to Ohio to Michigan.

He was a compassionate family man who devoted himself to being the hardest and most dedicated worker in every aspect of his life in support of his family.

He loved to travel, play golf and read sci-fi novels. Carl placed tremendous importance on establishing close ties to his ancestral roots in Japan, where he taught English and honed his Japanese for ten years after graduating from the University of Toronto. We will miss him dearly.

The family will hold a private memorial gathering in Mississauga shortly to celebrate his life.
