FOORD, Mary Elizabeth (nee ANNAN) - Peacefully on October 23, 2021 at Victoria Manor Long Term Care in Lindsay, ON at the age of 94.
Devoted wife of George for 62 years.
Loving mother of Alex (Melanie) and James (Rachel).
Mary grew up with her older brother Scott (deceased) on a farm in Pickering, later moving to Aurora.
Mary dedicated herself to her studies and graduated U of T for teaching, where she met her husband George Foord, the man who would continue to hold her hand wherever and whenever they went out for the next 62 years.
Mary worked for many years in secondary education and then continued as an Adult Educator, making a lasting impact in the lives of so many of her students.
An accomplished watercolour painter and showcased member of the Willowdale Group of Artists, her ability and giving spirit were shown in her lifelong membership in Eastern Star and charity work, including quiet donations of artwork to Sunnybrook Hospital.
We remember and celebrate her quiet dignity, faith and perseverance and give thanks for a long life, well-lived and well-loved.
Missed but never forgotten....
