McKELVIE, Susan (nee SOWDON) - June 25, 1941 - December 13, 2021 Mississauga, Ontario Susan Jane McKelvie, 80, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at The Village of Erin Meadows Long Term Care.
Born June 25, 1941.
Susan was the beloved wife of Mel and devoted mother of Erin (Ed) Simanskis and Craig (Helen) McKelvie and loving grandmother of Eric and Emily Simanskis.
Susan and Mel's love story lasted through 64 years of hand-holding, care and affection to whispers of "love you darlin" in the last chapter.
A Liberty fashions model in her younger years, Susan spent her life lovingly nurturing family and pets as well as proudly coaxing floral blooms into envy-of-the-neighborhood gardens.
Survived by brother, Ross Sowdon, Susan was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Anna Maxine Sowdon.
A service to celebrate Susan's life will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, Oakville, ON. The family will receive registered friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
