LANTAIGNE, Gilles Marcel - Born on June 28, 1943, originally from the Beaches in Toronto and most recently, Cobourg, and passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Gil will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his great sense of humour, contagious laugh, positive disposition and a love of all things comedic.
Gil enjoyed cottage life at Lake St. Peter and then Baptiste Lake, travelling to NASCAR races, reading, and was very knowledgeable about current events.
After a successful career in the printing industry, Gil volunteered for Corrections Canada and at a local food bank in his retirement.
Gil found great joy in conversations with people in local pubs and was the owner of Gatewick & Giles Pub for a short time.
During one of his last conversations with family, he shared a powerful quote by Kahlil Gibran, "When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."
A cremation has taken place. As per Gil's request, there will be a private Celebration of Life.
Donations to the charity of your choice will be appreciated by the family.
