ROSSEN, Frances J.  -  It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frances Jean Rossen (nee Fordyce), 86, in Pickering, Ontario.

Fran passed peacefully September 1, 2016 after a short illness.

Frances was predeceased by her husband Peter (Bill) Rossen and son Steven Rossen (Lillian).

Surviving sons are Bruce (Terri), Blair (Louise) and Stuart (Dinah). Fran also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life. She will be deeply missed by grandchildren Lisa, Jeffrey, Brianne, Samantha, Brooke, Katie, Paul and Stephanie.

Her great- grandchildren (who knew Fran as GG) include Aubrey, Ben, Ella, Lucas, Arya, Kai and Everlee. Fran had a special bond with her "Girls Group" whom she had known since they were all in elementary school.

Over the years Fran had a huge influence over hundreds of young adults who played hockey or football with her sons.

This found her house as the neighborhood drop-in centre. She was always happiest with a houseful of boys, cooking and listening to their achievements and their hopes and dreams.

Fran was just known as "MOM" to hundreds. To know Fran was to love Fran and heaven is certainly a better place today with her presence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada.
