ROWNTREE, Kenneth James  - September 19, 1924, Weston, Ontario - October 4, 2016, Brampton, Ontario

It is with sad hearts the family of Ken Rowntree announces his passing Tuesday evening, 2 weeks after his 92nd birthday.

Ken was married to Maud Travis for 67 years. Together in 1951, they built their house at 2 Fern Street in Brampton where Ken lived until December 2015. He was the loving father to Janice Cooper (John) and Michele Urban (Hans), both of Waterloo.

Cherished grandfather to Adam and Matthew Cooper, both of Waterloo, Jessica Simon Batte (Kyle) of Brampton and Caitlin Simon McGill (Justin) of Millbrook and great-grandfather to Athena McGill. Brother to Helen Thompson (deceased 2007) and Velma Potts of Langley, BC. Ken was the Personnel Administrator at AVRO 1947 - 1960 and American Motors 1960 - 1987.

For many years after he retired Ken arranged the AMC retirees annual dinner. Ken and Maud were avid travelers having reached their goal of visiting all the Canadian provinces and US states by 1996. Ken also was passionate about his many hobbies.

He was an avid "Rock Hound" specializing in fluorescent rocks and also loved woodworking and stained glass. We will all miss him greatly.
