LAURIE, Gordon Herbert  - Born in 1935, Cranbrook, BC, died peacefully at his Cherry Valley home, October 5, 2016, surrounded by family.

Survived by beloved wife of 57 years, Joan (nee Degg) originally of Stoke-On-Trent, England; four children, Karen (Robert), Suzanne (John), David (Patti) and Ian (Kirsten), eight grandchildren and brother Stuart of Skookumchuck, BC. Alumni of University of British Columbia (BSc Metallurgical Engineering, 1957); Athlone Scholarship to Birmingham University, England (PhD, Metallurgy, 1961); P.Eng.

Employed by Cominco (1961-1989); Hatch Associates (1990-1997).

Member of Rotary International (Streetsville), Canadian Innovation Centre (Waterloo), Probus (Belleville), Environmental Stewardship Council (Prince Edward County).
