HAY, Michael David Thomas  - Michael Hay, born February 17, 1945.

Passed away peacefully after an extensive battle with cancer on February 2, 2017, at home with his wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gail (nee Urquhart); his daughters Melanie and Natalie and by his sisters Pat and Kathie.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland to father, David and mother, Hilda, Michael came to Canada when he was only 8 years old.

With a passion for visual arts, he attended the Ontario College of Art and Design before starting his career as a Visual Display Merchandiser/Designer at Simpsons, Reitman's and Stollery's.

Michael was a committed husband and dedicated father who will be remembered most for his love of music, action movies, Stephen King novels, crosswords, chocolate and unrelenting sense of humour.

Friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W., on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will begin in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m.
