Brown MaryBROWN, Mary Frances (nee Quick)  - Born May 16th, 1945, beloved wife of David, proud mother of Kerra (Michel) and Lisa, proud step-mother of Janet (Kelvin) and Michael and devoted grandmother of Gabriel, Russell (Chelsea), Elizabeth (Justin) and Paul, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 with family by her side.

Mary was a retired employee of the Durham Board of Education serving as the Communications Manager for many years.

Prior to that she was President of Maraner Advertising.

She was also a founding member and served as the President of the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education and on her retirement, was presented with an honorary lifetime membership.

Mary enjoyed being a past director of the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, was an avid golfer and bridge player, a passionate gardener, a voracious reader and a talented seamstress.

She was a lover of animals and cherished both of her beloved Chow Chows. She will be missed, loved and remembered by her family and friends.

Our gratitude and thanks go to Dr. Titis, Dr. Ngo and the entire Supportive Care staff at Lakeridge Health Centre for all their advice, care and support over the past several weeks and months.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, April 13th at 1:30 pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3:00 pm.

Donations are welcome to the Humane Society of Durham Region or a  CHARITY of your choice.
