McConvey DonaldMcCONVEY, Donald McPherson  - 8/27/1936 - 4/13/2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald McPherson McConvey on Thursday April 13, 2017.

Donald was born in Glasgow Scotland on August 27, 1936.

He immigrated to Canada at the age of 12 with his mother Mary, father David and 4 brothers David, Archie (predeceased), Iain and Angus (predeceased).

Although he spent most of his life in Canada and was proud to call himself a Canadian, he never forgot his roots and remained a proud “Scotsman” throughout all of his life.

The things he loved the most were his family, the “Glasgow Rangers” and a “wee swallee”.

During his retirement years, winters were spent in St. Pete’s, Florida where he enjoyed boating and fishing.

Donald was predeceased by his dearly beloved wife of 48 years, Betty.

He will be sadly missed by his companion of the past 10 years Kathy Kilroy, daughters; Ann Pitcher (Brian), Deborah Bungaro (John), sons Donald Jr., John (Brigitte), grandchildren Evan, Cameron, Braydon, Cailyn, Hannah, Jaydon, step grandchildren Melissa and Samantha Rogers, brothers David, Iain.

Donald was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and a great friend to many. To say he was a “character” doesn’t even begin to describe him. There will be many a funny story told in his memory for years to come.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Rd, Ajax.

The family will receive friends at 12pm, Service at 1pm in the chapel with reception and a “wee swallee” to follow.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
