VALVASORI, Luigi  - Peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the age of 95.

Dearly beloved husband of Dina.

Loving father of Lily and her husband Dino Pedron and Iris and her husband Kevin Heald.

Cherished Nonno of Nadia, Kristen, Tania and Andrea.

Luigi and Dina met at a party in Praturlone, Pordenone, Italy. Soon after, he went to Belgium to work in the mines and would write her letters to stay in touch.

After a year, he returned to Italy and was to join his brother in Canada, but before he left he knew Dina was the one he wanted to spend his life with. They married December 22, 1949 and on January 5, 1950 he left for Canada.

In April 1951, Dina joined Luigi in Canada where they spent many beautiful years together. The love that they shared was truly something special. It was a love only people could dream of. Luigi was a very proud man, whose strength was admirable. He loved his family more than anything. Even though he had a stroke 37 years ago, which left him aphasic, he always found a way to say, "bella e basta" with a smile on his face every time he saw his daughters and granddaughters.

Luigi will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Resting at Newediuk Funeral Home, 2058 Kipling Avenue, on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 5-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 45 Ludstone Drive, on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
