      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

HumboldtStrong BannerA book of remembrance and support has been placed in the lobby of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME for residents of Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington. This will be sent to the community of Humboldt to show our support and solidarity.

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Edwards VioletEDWARDS, Violet  - November 10, 1932 - July 21, 2017

Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, July 21st, 2017 at the age of 84.

Born November 10th, 1932 in Moneycarragh, Clough, Northern Ireland.

Predeceased by her husband Desmond and son Derek.

Survived by her sons Alan (Shelley) and Andrew (Nancy).

Sister to Mandy Amos, Elizabeth Whiting (John), Robert Allen (Joy) all of England. Sister and best friend to Caroline Kraft of Oshawa.

Special aunt to Kelly and Justin, and Martin and Patricia of British Columbia. Auntie Violet will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in the U.K.

Loving grandmother of Janelle (Joe), Brianne (Erol), Jamie (Andrew), Matthew (Jay), Mitchell (Sarah), Jacob and Griffith.

Loving great grandmother to Kensey, Addison, Claire and Amelia.

Visitation is open to the public on Wednesday, July 26th at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Private family funeral to follow.

Violet was known as Grandma Violet to many within her extended family. Her family was her “world”.
