      Ontario Junior Hockey League, Whitby Fury Junior A Hockey Club, in conjunction with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, invite the community to sign a guestbook of condolence at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby in memory of the players and team personnel who lost their lives in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

    The book will be available daily from  9 a.m. - 8 p.m. until Monday, April 23rd, at which time the book will be sent to the OJHL offices to be sent to the team in Saskatchewan

HumboldtStrong BannerA book of remembrance and support has been placed in the lobby of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME for residents of Oshawa, Whitby and Clarington. This will be sent to the community of Humboldt to show our support and solidarity.

Feel free to add to our memorial in front of the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME.

Hockey sticks will be donated to support minor hockey in our community.

As well, OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL and DIGNITY MEMORIAL will make a donation to support Minor Hockey for every stick collected.

Ostler KennethOSTLER, Kenneth Martin  - February 20, 1935 - August 11, 2017

(Retired Durham Regional Police Officer)

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, August 11th, 2017 with his family by his side at 82 years of age.

Beloved husband of the late Anne.

Loving father of Chris (Susan), Ken (Joanne) and Laurie.
 
Cherished grandfather of Sarah (Darrell), Jason, Colin, Greg, Liam and Olivia and great grandfather of Deanna and Desmond.
He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends.

In his day Ken was actively involved in MacKenzie, Park the 37th Oshawa Cub Pack, the Oshawa Travel Trailer Club, and was a motorcycle, snowmobile and outdoor enthusiast. His family will miss the fun times at the "Shack."

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, August 15th, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. GERTRUDE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, (690 King Street East) on Wednesday, August 16th, 10:00a.m.  Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or Salvation Army would be appreciated.
